Cool quote and it seems appropriate to the present. Heard it in the movie 1917.

It is scary to go it alone but I've been waiting and looking for others who are in my shoes. Tired of working for others and not getting the satisfaction from busting my ass. Craving the success from creating art and make fun things I enjoy. Having the urgency and drive to push through obstacles like sleep and have fun while juggling the responsibility of being a father.

I was holding down a regular job and trying to squeeze time into learning coding and making art but it is hard. Putting in 40-50 hours a week; adding 10 hours or so to my existing side business for the past 4 years and not wanting to be a workaholic father, I spent what remaining time I have to be a father. Near the end of 2023, I swallowed the little pride that I have left and asked for a loan from my mother and patience from my wife to go on this journey full time.

One full month (December) has passed and I've made some progress. Not a lot but I've been able to pick up more knowledge into the programs that will help make this dream of mine come true. First step to the 12 months ahead.

Quick check list of what I've done so far:

1. modeled and textured a small animal, our main character!

2. modeled and textured several environment models

3. imported models into UE5

4. learning more UE5

5. learning more Blender

6. learning more app development using Apple environment

7. started a blog to document my own thoughts throughout this journey
